eTic 2016 EU-Taiwan Green Summit
In recent years, Circular Economy has brought a wave all over the world. The European Union – along leading economies around the world – proposed the blueprint of the future green economy and the related innovative design. The President Tsai Ing-Wen emphasized in her inaugural address on 20 May that the transformation of the waste to the resource shall become an important objective for Taiwan’s government and looked forward to a revolution of waste management, which leads to a new economic model of zero waste.
The Green Trade Project Office(GTPO) of the under the Ministry of Economic Affairs(MOEA), Department of Economic Development, Taipei City Government and the European Economic and Trade Office (EETO) – in the framework of the European Business and Regulatory Cooperation (EBRC) programme– will co-host the “2016 EU-Taiwan Green Summit: Moving towards a circular economy and sustainable trade.” The summit will gather experts from Europe and Taiwan to discuss the idea of “cradle to cradle”, namely, the transformation and the rebirth of the waste through the dialogue between the public and private sectors, in order to march together towards a circular economy and sustainable trade.
